About us

The foundation for needy students was established in 1961 after Moral Education had discovered that Thai children, both in rural and urban areas, did not have adequate opportunities to pursue education. There were only a few organisations equipped to support the needs of these students at the time.

When Her Majesty Queen Sirikit learned of the fact, she graciously established a fund, which her loyalists courteously contributed to as an occasion for her birthday. She also kindly established the Foundation for Needy Students under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen in October 1961.

The Foundation for Needy Students under Her Majesty the Queen’s Royal Patronage is a charitable organisation focused on providing educational opportunities and promoting access to sustainable education. It acquires funds to provide scholarships to needy students to pursue their full academic potential, building knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values necessary to become self-reliant and an integral part of society.

The core of human development is education. Education drives the country toward sustainable development. These days, many students still lack funds to pursue academic achievement and need support from the organisation. We seek to remedy this by making education available to as many students in need as possible.
